The couple of days ago. I search for information on the Shimano PD-M540 SPD Pedals, so i would like to describe here.
What can I say about this that you probably haven't read? Probably not much. they are essentially the same mechanism as the pedals XTR and XT, but weigh a bit more (as if the parts on the heavy side of manufacturing tolerances are used at this level). the finish on them is not great but it is not at all. have two sealed bearings (part of the reason for the extra weight over some other pedals) and are essentailly-bullet proof
Unless your daily bread depends on your race resume, or you just won the lottery, saving money in areas where it doesn't compromise performance is just a smart choice.
